Choices last six months by default. A region can have its own period when its rules or guidance differ.

In practice

A Dutch site counts visits without cookies and needs no banner at home. You decide German visitors should be asked first, so the lamp goes on for Germany only.

Can I show the cookie banner only in some countries?: That’s planned, without a date yet. A site will be able to show its banner to visitors from the countries you pick and keep the lamp off for the rest. At launch, a site’s banner applies to every visitor.
