Compare · Gatelamp vs Complianz

Complianz or Gatelamp? How they compare.

Complianz is a self-hosted privacy plugin for WordPress, with a separate Shopify app, and you can use it today. Gatelamp is in development and looks after all your sites from one dashboard, on any platform that takes a script tag.

Complianz’s plans and features as shown on their own site on 21 October 2026.

The short version

Pick Complianz if your sites run on WordPress, you need a banner today, or you want IAB TCF and legal documents from the same plugin. Pick Gatelamp if your sites run on different platforms and you want them all in one dashboard, with a banner only where one is needed. Gatelamp isn’t open yet, and its WordPress plugin is planned.

Where Complianz is strong

  • Available today, with a free WordPress plugin, more than a million users and a 30-day money-back guarantee on premium.
  • Self-hosted inside WordPress: the plugin and all stored data stay on your own server.
  • IAB TCF with CMP ID 332, Google CMP certified, and Consent Mode v2 on every premium plan.
  • Legal documents beyond the cookie policy, such as a privacy statement, disclaimer and imprint, for several regions.

Where Gatelamp is different

  • Works on any site with a script tag, with an npm package and an Astro component at launch. WordPress and Shopify are planned.
  • Every site in one dashboard with a status lamp each, and one shared library of tools across all of them.
  • Sites that need no banner get none. The scanner shows which ones can do without, and how.
  • Consent records keep no IP addresses at all, and live in an EU database.

Gatelamp vs Complianz: common questions

Is Gatelamp cheaper than Complianz?
We can’t say yet, because Gatelamp’s prices follow before it opens. Complianz Premium costs €59 a year for one WordPress site, €179 for 5 and €399 for 25, billed yearly. Gatelamp will charge monthly per workspace, never per pageview, and everyone on its waitlist gets the early price.
Can I move from Complianz to Gatelamp?
Gatelamp isn’t open yet. Its WordPress plugin is planned, and until then the plain script tag works on WordPress too. When Gatelamp opens, the scanner lists what each site loads, and common tools are already described in the shared library. Ask us in the chat about your setup.
Do both run from my own site?
Yes, in different ways. Complianz is a WordPress plugin, so the banner and every stored record stay on your own server. Gatelamp serves a web component of around 12 kB from your own domain and keeps consent records in an EU database, without IP addresses.
Does Gatelamp support IAB TCF like Complianz?
Not at launch. IAB TCF matters for sites that sell personalised ads through Google AdSense or Ad Manager, and Complianz includes it in every premium plan today. Google Consent Mode v2 for Analytics and Ads works in Gatelamp from day one.
