CookieYes or Gatelamp? Here’s the difference.
CookieYes is a Google-certified consent platform you can use today, priced per domain and by pageviews. Gatelamp is in development and first checks which of your sites need a banner at all.
CookieYes’s plans and features as shown on their own site on 21 October 2026.
Pick CookieYes if you need a banner today, want IAB TCF, or run one small site that fits its free plan. Pick Gatelamp if you run several sites, want a price that never depends on pageviews, and want consent records without IP addresses. Gatelamp is still in development, so for now you can join the waitlist.
Side by side
| CookieYes | Gatelamp | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A Google-certified consent platform: banner, scanner, automatic blocking, consent log and policy generators. Available today | A cookie banner only on the sites that need one, with a scanner and one dashboard for all your sites (in development) |
| Free plan | Yes: one free domain per account, 5,000 pageviews a month, 5 scans a month of 100 pages, one language | Planned: one site, with the honest banner, a cookie page, a monthly scan, proof of consent and a “consent by gatelamp” label |
| Paid plans | Basic: $10/month per domain, billed monthly, for 100,000 pageviews a month; 2 months free if paid yearly | Planned: Maker for a handful of sites and Studio for portfolios and agencies, monthly. Prices follow before Gatelamp opens |
| Pricing model | Per domain, by monthly pageviews; Basic and Pro charge $0.30 per 1,000 extra pageviews | Per workspace, never per pageview |
| Many sites in one account | Yes: many domains in one account, each on its own paid plan, and an Agency Partner Program for client sites | Every site in one dashboard with a status lamp each, one shared library of tools, and presets that update many sites at once |
| Cookie scanner | Matched against 100,000+ known cookies; 600 pages per scan on Basic, scheduled monthly on Pro and weekly on Ultimate | A real browser visits three times: before a choice, after reject and after accept. Weekly, and on demand after a deploy |
| Banner design | Colours and custom CSS from Basic, a popup layout from Pro, your own logo and no CookieYes branding on Ultimate | Each site’s own colours, font, corners and spacing, as a bar, a corner card or a centred dialog |
| Google Consent Mode v2 | Yes, on every plan, from a Google-certified CMP | Yes: all four signals start as denied and update when someone chooses |
| IAB TCF | Yes: IAB TCF v2.4 from the Pro plan, $25/month per domain | Not at launch |
| Languages | Over 175 languages, 41 with automatic translation; the free plan shows one language | Text per language, picked from the page; starter text in English, Dutch, German, French, Danish and Swedish |
| Where the script loads from | Their CDN: the script loads from cdn-cookieyes.com and calls *.cookieyes.com | Your own domain: a web component of around 12 kB, so script-src 'self' can stay |
| Proof of consent | Consent ID, date, domain, location, partly masked IP and choice per category. CSV export: 1 year on Free, 5 years paid | A random consent ID, the choice per category and the banner version. No IP addresses. CSV export |
| Platforms | Any site with one line of code, plus apps for WordPress, Shopify, Wix and HubSpot, and Google Tag Manager | At launch: a script tag, an npm package and an Astro component. Planned: WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Framer and GTM |

Where CookieYes is strong
- Available today, with a free plan for one small site and a 14-day trial on every paid plan.
- A Google-certified CMP with Consent Mode v2 on every plan, and IAB TCF v2.4 from the Pro plan.
- Automatic blocking of scripts such as Google Analytics and the Facebook Pixel, and a scanner matched against 100,000+ known cookies.
- Over 175 banner languages, 41 of them with automatic translation, and apps for WordPress, Shopify, Wix and HubSpot.
Where Gatelamp is different
- Priced per workspace, never per pageview, so more visitors don’t change the bill.
- Sites that need no banner get none, and still get scans, alerts and a cookie page.
- The script and every call go through your own domain, so a strict Content Security Policy can stay.
- Consent records keep no IP addresses or user agents, and are stored in the EU.
Gatelamp vs CookieYes: common questions
- Is Gatelamp cheaper than CookieYes?
- We can’t say yet, because Gatelamp’s prices follow before it opens. CookieYes charges per domain, from $10 a month for up to 100,000 pageviews, plus $0.30 per 1,000 extra pageviews on Basic and Pro. Gatelamp charges per workspace and never per pageview. Everyone on the Gatelamp waitlist gets the early price.
- Can I move from CookieYes to Gatelamp?
- Gatelamp isn’t open yet. When it is, you add one script line to your layout, or the Astro component, and the scanner lists what each site loads. Findings are matched against an open cookie database and your own library, so common tools are already described. Ask us in the chat about your setup.
- What do the consent records keep?
- CookieYes logs a consent ID, the date, the domain, a location, a partly masked IP address and the choice per category. Gatelamp keeps a random consent ID, the choice per category, how and when it was made and the banner version, with no IP addresses or user agents. Both let you look up a record by its consent ID.
- Does Gatelamp support IAB TCF like CookieYes?
- Not at launch. IAB TCF matters for sites that sell personalised ads through Google AdSense or Ad Manager, and CookieYes offers it from its Pro plan today. Google Consent Mode v2 for Analytics and Ads works in Gatelamp from day one.
