Cookiebot or Gatelamp? Per domain or per workspace.
Cookiebot is a consent platform by Usercentrics that you can use today, priced per domain. Gatelamp is in development and starts with a different step: finding out which of your sites need a banner at all.
Cookiebot’s plans and features as shown on their own site on 21 October 2026.
Pick Cookiebot if you need a banner today, serve Google ads that need IAB TCF, or want a large cookie repository and many integrations. Pick Gatelamp if you run several sites, would rather pay per workspace than per domain, and want sites that need no banner to stay without one. Gatelamp isn’t open yet, so for now that means joining the waitlist.
Side by side
| Cookiebot | Gatelamp | |
|---|---|---|

| Free plan | Yes: 1 domain up to 50 subpages, 1 language, manual blocking, and choices that last up to 1 month | Planned: one site, with the honest banner, a cookie page, a monthly scan, proof of consent and a “consent by gatelamp” label |
| Paid plans | Premium Lite: €7/month, billed monthly, for 1 domain up to 50 subpages (excl. VAT). Yearly billing also offered | Planned: Maker for a handful of sites and Studio for portfolios and agencies, monthly. Prices follow before Gatelamp opens |
| Pricing model | Per domain, by the number of subpages, monthly or yearly. No pageview or traffic limits | Per workspace, never per pageview |
| Many sites in one account | On Premium: domains and domain groups in one account, billed per domain; €15/month each for small domains from 4+ | Every site in one dashboard with a status lamp each, one shared library of tools, and presets that update many sites at once |
| Cookie scanner | Monthly scans or on demand, matched against 13,000+ known cookies; daily scans cost €99/month extra | A real browser visits three times: before a choice, after reject and after accept. Weekly, and on demand after a deploy |
| Banner design | Dialog, bar or compact layout; colours, logo and custom HTML, CSS and JavaScript on Premium | Each site’s own colours, font, corners and spacing, as a bar, a corner card or a centred dialog |

| Languages | 47+ languages with auto-translation on Premium; the free plan has 1 language | Text per language, picked from the page; starter text in English, Dutch, German, French, Danish and Swedish |
| Where the script loads from | Their domain: consent.cookiebot.com/uc.js, added as one script tag in your site’s header | Your own domain: a web component of around 12 kB, so script-src 'self' can stay |
| Proof of consent | An anonymised ID, the consent state, URL, IP-based country and time, kept up to 12 months. CSV export on Premium | A random consent ID, the choice per category and the banner version. No IP addresses. CSV export |
| Platforms | WordPress plugin, Wix app, Shopify, Google Tag Manager and 30+ other platforms | At launch: a script tag, an npm package and an Astro component. Planned: WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Framer and GTM |

Where Cookiebot is strong
- Available today, with a free plan for one small site and a 14-day trial of every Premium feature, no card needed.
- A Google-certified CMP partner (Gold Tier) with IAB TCF on Premium, for sites that serve Google ads in the EU, EEA and UK.
- Automatic blocking, and a scanner backed by a repository of 13,000+ described cookies and trackers.
- Consent signals for Google, Microsoft and Amazon, and integrations for WordPress, Wix, Shopify, Google Tag Manager and 30+ other platforms.
Where Gatelamp is different
- Priced per workspace instead of per domain and subpage count, and never per pageview.
- Sites that need no banner get none. The scanner shows which ones can do without, and how.
- Runs from your own domain as a web component of around 12 kB, so a strict Content Security Policy can stay.
- Every site in one dashboard with a shared library of tools, and consent records without IP addresses.
Gatelamp vs Cookiebot: common questions
- Is Gatelamp cheaper than Cookiebot?
- We can’t say yet, because Gatelamp’s prices follow before it opens. The model is different: Gatelamp charges per workspace, never per pageview. Cookiebot charges per domain by the number of subpages, from €7 a month for one domain with up to 50 subpages, and from €15 a month per domain once you have four or more. Everyone on the Gatelamp waitlist gets the early price.
- Can I move from Cookiebot to Gatelamp?
- Gatelamp isn’t open yet. When it is, you add one script line to your layout, or the Astro component, and the scanner lists what each site loads. Findings are matched against an open cookie database and your own library, so common tools are already described. Ask us in the chat about your setup.
- Does Gatelamp support IAB TCF like Cookiebot?
- Not at launch. IAB TCF matters for sites that sell personalised ads through Google AdSense or Ad Manager, and Cookiebot offers it on its Premium plans today. Google Consent Mode v2 for Analytics and Ads works in Gatelamp from day one.
- Where does each tool’s script load from?
- Cookiebot loads its script from consent.cookiebot.com. Gatelamp runs from your own domain as a web component of around 12 kB, so your security headers can stay as strict as they are.
