Compare · Gatelamp vs Termly

Termly or Gatelamp? What sets them apart.

Termly pairs a cookie banner with policy generators and has a free plan you can use today. Gatelamp is in development, priced per workspace, and shows which of your sites need a banner at all.

Termly’s plans and features as shown on their own site on 21 October 2026.

The short version

Pick Termly if you want a free banner today, need policy generators next to it, or want IAB TCF on a low per-website price. Pick Gatelamp if you run several sites and would rather pay per workspace, with proof of consent planned on every plan, the free one included. Gatelamp is still in development, with a waitlist.

Where Termly is strong

  • Available today, with a free plan: one website, 10,000 banner views a month, quarterly scans and the script auto blocker.
  • Policy generators next to the banner, including a privacy policy, terms and conditions and a cookie policy.
  • A Google CMP Partner with Gold status, with IAB TCF 2.3 and advanced Google Consent Mode v2 on Pro+.
  • A WordPress plugin on every plan, and install guides for Wix, Squarespace and Next.js.

Where Gatelamp is different

  • One monthly price per workspace, for a handful of sites (Maker) or many (Studio), never per pageview.
  • Proof of consent on every plan, the free one included, with no IP addresses stored.
  • A scan of every site shows which ones need a banner. Sites that load nothing needing consent get none.
  • Runs from your own domain as a web component of around 12 kB, so a strict security policy can stay.

Gatelamp vs Termly: common questions

Is Gatelamp cheaper than Termly?
We can’t say yet, because Gatelamp’s prices follow before it opens. Termly charges per website: Starter is $10 a month billed annually or $14 monthly, and IAB TCF, consent logs and more languages come with Pro+ at $15 or $20. Gatelamp charges per workspace, monthly, and never per pageview. Everyone on the waitlist gets the early price.
Can I move from Termly to Gatelamp?
Gatelamp isn’t open yet. When it is, add your sites and the scanner shows what each one loads, and which script caused it. Common tools are already described in the shared library. Ask us in the chat about your setup.
Do both keep proof of consent?
Termly keeps consent logs on Pro+ and Agency, with an anonymised IP address, the country, the browser or device, the choices and the date. Gatelamp plans proof of consent on every plan, the free one included: a random consent ID, the choice per category, when it was made and the banner version, with no IP addresses. Both let you export the records.
